Freight Monster™ Double Drop Trailer
Double drops are used mainly for over sized freight. The lower deck height, lets you load products that are taller then 10′ tall. It has a longer piece of trailer in the middle that we like to call the “well”. The “well” usually ranges from 25-29′. There are two types of double drop trailers, fixed neck and removable gooseneck double drop trailers. Fixed neck is permanently attached to the well of the trailer, while the RGN neck can be removed. Usually they have 2 or more axles, and a “Flip axle”, which flips up to lay on the deck or flips down to create an extra axle for balancing weight. Because of the relatively short freight well length, there are also extendable double drop trailers for tall and long freight. Some examples of freight that double deck trailers usually haul are construction equipment, cars, trucks, tanks, and forklifts.
